Whether you're a first time home buyer in Maryland, thinking about buying a home or condo, or you're ready to buy, understanding the home buying process will help you be more prepared.

Here's my simple step by step guide from starting your home search to homeownership.

Planning your housing budget

If you're planning on buying a home with a mortgage loan, you'll want to speak with an experienced mortgage professional.

A lender will determine your mortgage qualifications and your maximum monthly mortgage payment based on your credit debts.

I believe you should review all of your necessary monthly household expenses such as utilities, food, insurance, car maintenance, etc.

Planning your wish list for your future home

Most home buyers start their search online. It's helpful, but not as effective as working with a Realtor®.

I'll work with you to narrow down your list, and set you up with my Free MLS Listing Alerts and Property Portal. You'll get every property that fits your criteria send right to your inbox.

Scheduling your home tour

Once we've found properties your interested in, we'll set up a home tour. It may also be helpful for me to preview the property before you spend your time travel to properties that may or may not be of interest to you.

I can take videos of the properties I preview, or we can video chat while I'm at the home.

We'll work together to find you the perfect place to call home.

Preparing your offer

Once you've found a property you'd like to buy, I'll help you prepare a competitive offer, and explain the different options for your offer.

I use technology to help you present your offer fast and securely using DotLoop. DotLoop is a real estate based system that allows you to easily and securely sign and share documents.

After your offer is accepted

After you and the seller have signed a purchase agreement, I'll help you navigate the process to settlement.

I'll help coordinate real estate documents with your mortgage lender and title company, and I'll work with you to schedule home inspections. I'll be there at your home inspection.
